Pie and soulshine

So much going on. It feels heavy. I find myself listening and wanting to listen to a certain vibe of music. Music that is in this strange space. Music that is sad and down and uplifting all at the same time (has the shrink lost his mind?). You want to belt the lyrics out and cry and feel good and bad all at once. Two songs seem to be coming to me right now. The first is iconic. It's been around as long as I can remember and everyone knows the words. Don McLean's American Pie.

The second a little more recent but a similar vibe is The Allman Brother's Soulshine. A song that speaks about the light in the darkest of times. Both songs make me want to drive, roll the windows down, and feel all the feels .

We love kickass, upbeat music at KCast Radio. But we also love that music moves us. Whether it's the lyrics, or the melody. Whether it's a guitar solo that rocks or one that cries out. There seems to be rock for every occasion. Don't get me wrong now. I love nothing more than starting my day with amazing, killer rock. But there are these times when I need to feel sad, and bad, and good, and inspired, and dejected, and frustrated, and nostalgic all at the same time. And during those times, nothing beats a little pie and soulshine.
